Day 1
06:30 - Pickup from your Bangkok hotel.
08:30 - JEATH War Museum. Discover the moving stories behind the Death Railway through wartime photographs, artifacts, and a replica POW camp, offering a powerful reminder of the human cost of war.
09:15 - World War II Art Gallery & Museum. Explore an impressive collection of WWII relics, authentic military vehicles, and powerful exhibits offering a deeper understanding of the region’s wartime past.
10:00 - Bridge over the River Kwai. Walk across the iconic WWII bridge and discover the remarkable history, sacrifice, and resilience behind the legendary Death Railway.
10:45 - Enjoy a scenic train ride along the historic Death Railway to the famous Wangpo Viaduct, where breathtaking river views and dramatic cliffside tracks create one of Thailand’s most unforgettable rail journeys.
12:45 - Lunch at a local restaurant.
14:00 - Anzac Eve at Hellfire Pass: Visit the most poignant site of the Death Railway on the eve of ANZAC Day, where quiet reflection, memorial preparations, and the stories of Allied POWs and Asian labourers create a deeply moving experience before the Dawn Service.
15:30 - Check-in at Home Phutoey River Kwai.
18:30 - Dinner at Home Phutoey River Kwai.
Day 2
02:30 - Depart for Hellfire Pass.
03:00 - Attend the ANZAC Dawn Service at Hellfire Pass. A short 20-minute walk along the historic railway trail is required; sensible footwear and a torch are essential. Golf buggy assistance is usually available for visitors with limited mobility.
05:30 - ANZAC Dawn Service begins. Join this deeply moving ceremony at Hellfire Pass, honouring the courage, sacrifice, and remembrance of Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women, at one of the most significant ANZAC commemorative sites outside Australia and New Zealand.
06:15 - Dawn Service concludes. Enjoy a complimentary Gunfire Breakfast with tea, coffee, and Anzac biscuits at the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre.
08:30 - Enjoy a scenic long-tail boat ride to Chungkai War Cemetery.
09:15 - Visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre (TBRC) in Kanchanaburi, a modern museum featuring powerful exhibits, artefacts, and stories of the WWII “Death Railway” and those who suffered and perished during its construction.
10:00 - Cenotaph Ceremony at Don Rak War Cemetery, featuring wreath-laying by Thai officials and commemorative tributes honouring the enduring Thai-ANZAC connection.
11:30 - Lunch at a local restaurant.
12:30 - Depart Kanchanaburi.
15:00 - Arrive at your Bangkok hotel.
