Itinerary

Day 1   (Bangkok - Chiang Mai)

05:00 - Pick up from your hotel in Bangkok and transfer to Don Mueang Airport (DMK).

06:00 - Board your 1-hour flight to Chiang Mai (CNX) with AirAsia, Nok Air, or Thai Lion Air.

08:00 - Arrive at Chiang Mai Airport.

08:30 - Morning Refresh. Kickstart your day with a cozy coffee and light breakfast near the airport.

09:30 - Wat Umong (The Tunnel Temple). Step into serenity at this 700-year-old meditation retreat nestled in forested grounds, famous for its mysterious tunnels, ancient murals, and the iconic Lanna-style Chedi above. Explore its many sections including the outdoor museum, enigma house, and stone inscriptions that whisper tales of the past.

11:00 - Doi Pui Hmong Tribal Village. Immerse yourself in the rich culture of the Hmong people and experience their traditional way of life — originally from Tibet and now part of Thailand’s northern hills. Explore their strawberry farms, coffee plantations, flower gardens, and organic tea farms, where you can sample fresh mulberry green tea or pick your own berries. If you visit between late December and January, you’ll be treated to the stunning sight of Himalayan Cherry Blossoms (Pink Wild Sakura) in full bloom. Learn about King Rama IX’s royal initiative that transformed former opium fields into thriving agricultural communities.

12:00 - The Sacred Jewel of Chiang Mai, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, was built in A.D. 1384 during the reign of the 6th King of the Lanna Kingdom. The temple enshrines the Buddha’s holy relics, believed to be buried beneath the pagoda — a sacred tradition symbolizing the spiritual heart of the ancient Lanna capital. According to centuries-old beliefs, women are not permitted to approach the relic chamber, a practice rooted in early interpretations of Buddhist customs from over a thousand years ago. Though such traditions are observed more strictly in Northern Thailand, they reflect the region’s deep reverence for its spiritual heritage. The temple takes its name from Hermit Wa Suthep, who once practiced meditation and asceticism on this very mountain more than a millennium ago. Today, the golden pagoda glimmers over the city, standing as a timeless symbol of faith and devotion.

13:30 - Ready for a midday masterpiece of Thai flavors? We’re talking authentic, mouthwatering dishes made to impress. From mild to Thai-spicy, there’s something to perfectly match your craving and give your afternoon the boost it deserves. Support a local favorite and experience the true warmth of Thai hospitality. Make your lunch hour the best hour of your day.

14:30 - Discover Chiang Mai’s magnificent Royal Park Ratchaphruek, an agricultural tourism destination and world horticultural center celebrating the culture of Thailand. Spanning over 748,800 square meters, the park bursts into color during the cool winter season with millions of blooming flowers. Explore stunning international gardens from Japan, India, Laos, Morocco, and beyond — along with themed attractions like Bug World and the New Theory Agricultural Garden. Experience it all in a fun new way with the “Segway Unseen” tour, gliding through scenic paths led by a professional guide. Built in honor of King Rama IX, the park stands as a vibrant tribute to nature, innovation, and Thai craftsmanship.

16:00 - Check in at your hotel: sleek, urban-style Le Méridien Chiang Mai near the bustling Night Bazaar, or Panviman Chiang Mai, a serene retreat nestled in the mountains.
18:30 - Chiang Mai Night Bazaar (Optional). Dive into the vibrant energy of the famous Chiang Mai Night Bazaar! This iconic shopping street is a magnet for international travelers looking to hang out, explore, and find unique treasures. Wander through endless stalls lining both sides of the street, offering a rich collection of handmade goods, clothing, intricate silverware, local paintings, footwear, fabrics, luggage, and must-have souvenirs. The experience is complete with international restaurants, bustling food courts, lively beer gardens, relaxing massage/spa services, and much more.
19:30 - Enjoy dinner at a local Thai restaurant or in the comfort of your hotel.
Day 2   (Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai - Bangkok)

07:00 - Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel to start your day right.
07:30 - Set off on a scenic drive to Chiang Rai, where northern Thailand’s charm and beauty await.
10:30 - White Temple (Wat Rong Khun). Prepare to be captivated by the dazzling White Temple, a stunning masterpiece of contemporary Thai art conceived by visionary artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. With its blindingly white façade adorned with glittering glass, this architectural wonder symbolizes the journey toward enlightenment — from hell to heaven. Both surreal and spiritual, the White Temple offers an ethereal experience that is deeply moving and utterly unforgettable, making it one of Thailand’s most photographed and awe-inspiring landmarks.

11:30 - Singha Park. Discover the beauty of Thailand’s largest agricultural park, stretching over 3,000 acres of lush landscapes. Hop on a tram ride through picturesque tea plantations, colorful flower fields, and vibrant fruit orchards. Get up close to nature as you hand-feed friendly animals, or add a touch of excitement with cycling and fun adventure activities, framed by the breathtaking backdrop of Chiang Rai's scenic mountain views!

12:30 - Lunchtime! Ignite your taste buds with authentic Thai cuisine at a favorite local spot. Each dish bursts with fresh, fragrant spices that promise a flavor experience you’ll never forget.
13:30 - Discover the Dreamlike Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten) of Chiang Rai! Forget everything you think you know about traditional Thai temples. It’s a stunning modern masterpiece of applied art, brought to life by the visionary craft of a local Chiang Rai artist. The temple’s signature feature is its dramatic and unique palette — deep, tranquil shades of sapphire blue brilliantly contrasted with shimmering gold accents, creating a look truly unlike any other temple in Thailand. Step inside the main chapel, intentionally defined as a “place of dream.” It feels like walking inside a living painting. Ready to see this sapphire wonder for yourself?

14:30 - Black House (Baan Dam Museum) — A Unique and Captivating Destination! Step inside the bold and enigmatic world of the Black House, an unforgettable artistic and architectural masterpiece. This striking complex of houses, built in the traditional Lanna art style, is dramatically painted in black — the very inspiration behind its evocative name. Wander through this powerful monochromatic landscape where every structure tells its own story. Each house is a masterpiece, intricately adorned with exquisite wood carvings, buffalo horns, deer antlers, and elephant bones, blending art, symbolism, and nature in breathtaking harmony. The entire estate, bathed in commanding shades of black, is the visionary creation of National Artist Thawan Duchanee. His deep passion for the color black permeates the grounds, where his remarkable collection of sculptures and paintings reflects profound themes of life, death, and the natural cycle of existence. The Black House offers a mysterious, powerful, and thought-provoking cultural experience — one that will linger in your memory long after you leave.
