Itinerary

 

7:30  - Pick up from hotel in Bangkok.

 

8:30  - Golden Mount (Wat Saket or Pou Khao Tong). A must not miss walking up 344 stairs to the slightly scene of Thailand’s metropolis. The total tallness from the ground to apex of the stupa is 63.6 meters. As a lofty conspicuous Buddhist temple situated magnificently in the middle of capital city with glinting golden stupa shining in the day and night at the top makes it become a popular tourist attraction in Bangkok. This ancient royal temple constructed in Ayutthaya epoch. It has an over 200 years old Bodhi tree and Vihara where enshrined a more than 700 years old standing Buddha statue at the height of 10.75 meters from the early Sukhothai period. In 1820, severe cholera epidemic in Bangkok approximately 30,000 people died. The bodies were piled in the temple hope for bury. Largest number of bodies sent to Wat Saket. On the temple ground, on the trees, on the walls and on the cloisters were full with thousands of vultures fervidly ogling to scrum cadavers and eat corpses. 10:30 - Wat Traimit (Temple of Golden Buddha) is an ancient temple built at some time unidentified assuming built in Ayutthaya period. It has exalted as a royal temple and the name changed from "Wat Saam Jean" (Temple of 3 Chinese) which the villagers named the temple after the 3 Chinese built it to be "Wat Traimit Witthaya Ram" in 1939. Guinness World Records of year 1991 states that this temple enshrined the vastest Golden Buddha in the world. A height of 3.91 meters and weigh 5.5 tons of gold at approximate cost of 35,000,000 USD. Golden Buddha was initially covered in plaster throughout the image with supposition that coating is done in year 1782. Relocating the Buddha image into temple essentially needs a crane but the wire is broken due to unable to hold the weight. The Buddha statue then hit the ground and found cracked plaster in breast. The abbot ordered to remove the whole plaster and find the resplendent pure gold inward. Going up to see the Golden Buddha must take off shoes which the temple prepares a bag to put shoes in so visitors can carry them to prevent loss.

11:30 - China Town (Yaowarat Road) is a neighborhood of Chinese community, business, financial, banking, gold shops, restaurants and stores on both sides of the road during the day. At night, China Town will turn into one of the longest food roads. Both sides are various types of food lined up such as shark fin, bird's nest soup, noodles, braised goat, Chinese medicine, braised pork offal, pork knuckle, seafood, roasted chestnuts, desserts and fruits. Either you can sit at the eateries, sit at sidewalk food stalls or buy from vendors to eating walking amidst the unique diversely colorful lights atmosphere. It took 8 years to complete building the road of China Town started in 1892 and done in 1900 albeit the road strength is only 1,410 meters on account of the denizen density.

12:00 - Street food experience in China Town (Yaowarat Road).

13:00 - Take MRT (underground) from China Town for 2 stops (app 15 min). Then ride a Tuk Tuk (3 wheels motorized) for 10 min.

 

13:30 - Thai Cooking Class including market tour (app 3 hr). Learn to cook famous Thai food in a relaxing and amicable environment. Small class max 10 participants for privacy work in an open kitchen conducted by a certified Thai cooking instructor. Set off to the local market to buy fresh ingredients. Your guide will explain about the Thai tastes, customs, common local meats, search for extraordinary ingredients and of course Thai-style haggling. Exploring the market gives insight how Thai people cook. This lesson is as important as learning in the kitchen. Primarily, you will get to know typical utensils and techniques. Preparation of curry paste is one of the highly indispensables of Thai culinary because most herbs and spices will be well-balanced mixed in mortar before cooking in a diversity procedures. The aroma is as majorly significant and appetizing as the savor in Thai cookery. Each and every gastronomy procedural is a hands-on experience by yourself. You will assimilate the culture of Thai food, reach a variegated color of exceptional flavors and unique redolence. It is a 5 dishes course for lunch that you may cook at home for your next meal or for guests with original Thai cuisine.

 

17:30 - Mahanakhon Skywalk Glass Tray. Thailand's highest building is becoming a new landmark of Bangkok. Take the fastest hydraulic glass lift in Southeast Asia and is one of the World's fastest elevators to the 74th floor within only 50 seconds. After sunset you can go back to the glass tray to take photos of illuminating lights on diferent tall buildings around Bangkok and below the glass tray. If you still have time then don't forget to try the beverages or snacks at the tallest rooftop bar in Southeast Asia. By reason of weather conditions affecting visibility. 19:30 - Take BTS Sky Train back to your hotel in Bangkok or may also use van if your hotel is inaccessible by BTS Sky Train.

20:30 - Return to hotel in Bangkok.

Dress codes for visiting the Royal temples : Pants or skirt should be veiled the knees, shirt with sleeves and ladies attire not so tight. Shoes concealed the heels. As these are the Buddhist places therefore must dress aptly.
